News - 3 Def Leppard Songs Featured In Rock Of Ages Movie

Friday, 6th January 2012 |

Mirrorball.

Guitarist Phil Collen has confirmed Def Leppard will have 3 of their songs in the new Rock Of Ages movie and their 2012 US tour will coincide with it's release.

Tom Cruise will sing 'Pour Some Sugar On Me' as previously mentioned. 'Rock Of Ages' and 'Bringin' On The Heartbreak' will also feature.

Phil seemed to suggest while talking about the upcoming Def Leppard US tour that the band would have some involvement in the promotion of the movie. Any soundtrack album has yet to be announced. Phil also mentioned the band would like to have new material or a single to be out when they hit the road without being too specific.

The movie based on the hit musical is due for release in the US on 1st June and 8th June in the UK.

Matty P's Radio Happy Hour - Phil Collen Interview Quotes

"Def Leppard's going out again on tour."

"We're gonna be going out, Def Leppard, this year and the 'Rock Of Ages' movie is coming out so we're actually gonna be going out on tour because obviously 'Rock Of Ages' is one of our songs. We got three songs in the movie. It's pretty cool Tom Cruise is in the movie and he's gonna be singing 'Pour Some Sugar On Me' so it's really cool and we're gonna be out doing that."

"We're going back out again this year. So it's very important for us to get out there and do that."

"I also think it's good to get new songs out there, not necessarily an album but I think it's good to get you know a song every time you go out on tour like a single or an EP or something like that. So we try and do that if we can but like I said it's a very - it's a slower process with Def Leppard for recording which is just the way we've always done it."
