Def Leppard singer Joe Elliott was interviewed by Ray of Rewind 94.9 radio in Cincinnati, Ohio on 30th March.
Joe was promoting the upcoming show on 2nd July at Riverbend Music Center and mentioned what the 'recent studio work' has been for as well as hinting at upcoming Def Leppard TV/media appearances. No mention of any work for the 'Slang' reissue.
Joe talked about the 2012 tour, the studio work he's been doing in recent months which include Down 'N' Outz songs, some guest appearances and new Leppard demos, Def Leppard TV and media appearances in June (starting on the 8th which is the Rock Of Ages movie premiere), touring with Poison, the Rock Of Ages movie, who Joe would want to tour with and his favourite movies. Current Work
"We start up again on about the 8th June. The first gig's on the 20th but we've got a bunch of you know TV and some special appearances here, there and everywhere and rehearsals and stuff which we'll be starting towards the end of May. So between now and then we talk and prepare and we do a few bits of work in the studio and that kind of thing. So we're kind of working behind the curtains or the curtains are closed then we'll open the curtains in the summer time."
Anything in particular you guys are working on in the studio? Maybe new stuff?
"A bit of this and a bit of that to be quite honest. I've been doing a bit of work on some stuff that's outside of the Leppard lounge if you like. I've been doing a bit of Down 'N' Outz for the second album. I've also been doing a few vocals on some guest appearance stuff which I'm not gonna tell you what it is cause it'll spoil the surprise but pretty cool stuff I've gotta say. And just writing and demoing some new stuff and, you know, that kind of thing."
Rock Of Ages movie?
"We saw Tom Cruise shooting his Pour Some Sugar On Me performance which was incredible and he asked to get involved - on the red carpet with him when the movie's premiered in Los Angeles. So it'll be exciting times for us to be involved in something like that."
