Dublin, Ireland - Fan Reviews

Fan Review - (MY) FUNNIEST MOMENTS IN … BELFAST & DUBLIN By Luca Zerbini

The bus from Belfast to Dublin was very comfortable and it was a nice journey. Only a few people on it and most of them wearing Thin Lizzy, Alice Cooper and Def Leppard shirts!

When I arrived in Dublin I had a quick walk in the famous Temple Bar area. At a corner there is a huge famouse U2 photo which usually everybody take a picture of. I laughed loud (and cheered) when I saw "FUCK U2! THIN LIZZY BEST IRISH BAND EVER!" written by someone on Bono face!!!

The day of the Dublin show I was so tired that I wished I were in USA with sitting and not standing area front stage! I spent the day in the Stephan Green shopping center only because the was a free wifi connection, the Thin Lizzy museum and a wonderful cafeteria with espresso and fantastic croissant.

In 2009 I almost missed Cheap Trick show because of Dublin traffic. I did the same this time and arrived one hour later (not bad considering that it’s only 20 minutes walk!!!)

Before entering the O2 Arena there were a lot of people outside the venue selling T-shirt for 10€. They disappeared in less than a minute when police arrived.

Once again I was the only one drinking water inside the venue. But O2 Arena (really a fantastic venue!) had a lot of food and drink bars inside the standing area even selling water and Coke!

The day of the show in Dublin Eivind and I texted a lot to meet. I was late so it ended up we had to meet inside the O2 Arena and so it was. It was still almost desert and even if talking on the phone to him ("I'm on the right side of the mixer") I could not find him!!! Thank God he found me because he saw me while talking on the phone!!!

Alice Cooper came out with a real snake around his neck during Is It My Body Live!

At the end of the main set just after ROA Def Leppard left the stage and UK flags appeared in the screens. I could hear a lot of "boo"s started from the audience and to stop when the blue of the flags turned into green. Same thing happened in 2009 during the SFTSL intro.

A lot of people dancing front row in Dublin much more than in Belfast where audience was maybe much more concentrated on songs. Joe made front stage even hotter saying: "last night we played in Belfast…" just before the acoustic set.

I had a much better time after the show in Dublin: still a lot of people outside and lots of pubs & restaurant still open. Even a Def Leppard, Alice Cooper & Thin Lizzy after show party in Temple Bar.

Read part one on the Belfast page.
