  • Location / Birmingham, England
  • Venue / LG Arena

The first show by the band in this city since June 2008 on the Songs From The Sparkle Lounge tour.

The 11th time at this venue.

The venue is located to the East of the main city centre within the NEC Exhibition Centre complex of venues and halls and close to the Birmingham International Airport.

It was opened in December 1980 and initially known as Hall 7 and then Birmingham International Arena.

From 1983 to 2008 it became the NEC Arena, LG Arena from 2008 to 2014, Genting Arena from 2014 to 2018 and is now the Resorts World Arena.

It was renovated in 2008 to 2009.

In September 2008 this venue became known as the LG Arena having been called the NEC Arena since opening in the early 80s.

The band expanded the set played in the UK in 2008 up to 17 songs including 'Wasted' and 'Gods Of War', which was played in the UK for the first time since 6th June 1993 at Don Valley Stadium.

'Love Bites', 'Foolin'' and 'Rock Of Ages' did not survive from the three shows in June.

'Rocket' was played earlier in a new set order as the single version. 'Armageddon It' was slightly shortened and went straight into 'Animal'.

A decent quality audience recording exists from this show.
