My first big concert this summer - and already I'm hoping that they add another show before they end the tour! I can't help it - I'm ADDICTED!

So that being said, I went to their Connecticut show last Thursday night, 7/19. Again, as I do every summer, I say - if you have the chance to see them this summer - do it!I had a blast at the VIP pre-party where we got to stay in the skyboxes and watch Styx (not as good as Journey was last tour, but oh well...) and met some amazingly cool people to hang out with since I went by my lonesome.

The guys have a huge ramp that goes out into the front of the audience and, at my show, eveyone except Rick (obviously) spent loads of time there so they were nice and close for picture-taking opportunities.

The set was by far too short for me - they only played like 90 minutes when they usually play 2 hours flat. They are NOT playing new CD music because they want it to be out on the CD in the fall and not on YouTube - and those are Joe's words, not mine! They did dig out some older material (i.e. the "High and Dry" era stuff) and it was VERY cool to hear "Switch 625" in concert. And for those who don't know about that song, it was Steve Clark's song to play in concert before he died - and Phil and Viv did it justice! it rocked!

And I'm sorry - I know that it should ALWAYS be about the music, which it generally is - but I have to say "What the F$#% was going on with Joe and his hair?" He needs some deep conditioning treatment and a better wardrobe - and how could any self-respecting wardrobe person let him go out like that? Especially after the last two tours where he was immaculate and sporting those great jackets - even in the scorching heat? Sorry - just had to vent on that...Anyways - GO SEE THEM! And RockOn.
