Chicago/Tinley Park, IL - Fan Reviews

Fan Review - By Debbi Worley

Foreigner and Styx were very good but it's hard to watch both bands when you're excited for the Leps to come on. I think they each played about 7 songs or so each before the Leps came on stage around 9:30.

It was another awesome show. The Leps never disappoint us. Joe sounded great. It was the same set list as the previous 2 shows. I was very disappointed that they no longer play We Will Rock You as the introduction anymore. I really missed that, to feel the chills while anxiously waiting knowing that the guys will soon be on stage any minute. They have to bring that back, it's been a tradition! They did not play For Those About To Rock as the introduction either (at least I don't think they did).

We loved hearing Mirror, Mirror and Another Hit and Run from High n Dry, that's a great addition to the set list but we really missed the other hits they took out like Promises and Let's Get Rocked and we missed not having PSSOM played as the encore. ROA just doesn't leave us with the excitement as Sugar used to when they played that as the encore. Although we always wanted more after Sugar used to be played last, didn't we?! I can't complain, their show is awesome no matter what. But the shows just don't last long enough!

You can see the catwalk in my photos. The guys played TSB and the beginning of BOTH (acoustic) at the end of the catwalk. I hope they'll keep the catwalk for all their shows! My pics are not the best as we all the way back at row 19, but I did my best with the zoom. Enjoy!

Fan Review - By Norm

Really liked Foreigner. Kelly Hanson did a fine job for vocals. In fact everyone there did a great job, even though Mick, was the only original member. I liked the segway of Whole Lotta Love during Juke Box Hero. You could tell Jason really got off on that.

Styx was actually a pleasant surprise. I personally not the biggest fan of them, but they had the crowd going. I would imagine so anyway, since they are from there. Not knowing much about the band going in, it was cool to see more than one member sing lead. In fact three did. Even more amazing, the Keyboardist was not the original, yet sounded just like the original on Come Sail Away. All I could think about was Cartman during this song (He He). It was cool hearing some The Darkness tunes in between bands too.

Then time for the mighty Def Leppard. They came on after about 80% For Those About To Rock (by AC/DC of course) was through. Set list was the same as the previous two nights.

With that being said. Def Leppard were in top form. It was cool hearing Excitable. As far as Mirror, Mirror and Another Hit And Run were concerned. To me Mirror, Mirror came off better, but regardless, I'm not the biggest fan of the High N Dry album, so those weren't the treat to me as they were to others. Switch 625 was cool, but was not a good enough replacement for Viv's & Phil's duelling guitar solos during Rocket. Now that would have been over the top if that is how the show started. But Rocket didn't even start off with it's "Normal album Gibberish". Phil had no hat, or double guitar for that matter. Two Steps Behind was great, haven't heard that since the X tour. Bringing On The Heartbreak's acoustic arrangement was the real treat for me. I loved how the lights went down and then back up and Phil & Viv when on the runway and strummed the strings for Photograph, that is audible orgasm right there. Rick Savage had his thing right before Rock On, the only track played from YEAH! Pour Some Sugar On Me had a very cool new beginning. I think it is great how they can re-arrange their older songs and make them sound fresh. nd the closing Rock Of Ages was a perfect ending to a rocking night.

We also snuck in our friends right next to us, since we were about 18 rows back dead center from the runway. They were in the second section. Not cool! We didn't take in any photos.
