Milwaukee, WI - Fan Reviews

Fan Review - By Joan/Slang67

The show tonight was FANTASTIC! First up was Stoll Vaughan, as has been the case all tour. He did a short set, but it was good. Next up, Journey took the stage. I wasn't sure what to expect after all the shake-ups with the lead singer, but the newest new guy did an amazing job. He sounded just like Steve Perry--it was eerie! Being the first time I've seen Journey, I was pleasantly surprised to see such a high energy show! The crowd stood the entire time Journey was on stage. They played all the hits along with some newer stuff. I really wasn't sure about a match up of Journey and Def Leppard; I've always been a casual Journey fan, but never really thought of the two bands being a complement to one another, but I was shown that they were complimentary indeed!

Once Journey left the stage, there was a short break while the stage was changed over. "We Will Rock You" came over the speakers and as the last note faded, the lights went out and Def Leppard hit the stage with amazing energy -- and it never slowed down for a second! There wasn't much chatter from Joe, as they had lots to do in the short time allotted (is it just me, or did Journey get a longer set?). Everyone appeared in high spirits and they were all over the stage. At one point in the show, Joe wanted the audience to scream so loud the audience at tomorrow's show would be able to hear us! I will say it got pretty loud! I think Joe was proud of us!

The video screens were running a majority of the time and they had some great graphics and pictures of the band from over the years.

The boys really tore it up, and the audience responded in kind. During the goodbyes, Sav came up to the mike and said we were an amazing audience. High praise indeed, as he doesn't always say that!

If you haven't yet seen the boys this tour, you are in for a treat! They've outdone themselves once again! It seems they just keep getting better and better!

Fan Review - By Lisa M. Seefeldt

The show started out with Stoll Vaughn and he played guitar, sang, and then 2 of the members of Journey came out and joined him on stage. He played for about 20 minutes and then it was Journey's turn to take the stage. And "Oh my God" Neal Schon started the show off with the Star Spangled Banner on his guitar, his guitar just screamed, the whole song was just electrifying it actually made my hair stand on end. With the awesome red, white, and blue eagle displayed on the huge screen behind the stage and all the red, white and blue floodlights going around it was very heartfelt and exciting.

So Journey played their entire set and it was awesome. I was a little sceptical about seeing Journey, because I have not seen them play for a long time, but I was very splendidly impressed. The (fill in ) lead singer did an awesome job, and he was just so full of energy and really got the crowd going and responding. The drummer I think it is (Dean Castronova) did an awesome job of Faithfully and Open Arms. All I can say is kudos to Journey for doing an excellent job of performing and still sticking it out after all these years!!!!!!

Ok, now we have a brief interlude between sets, and now DEF LEPPARD hits the stage and it is just unbelievable because they start off asking Do ya wanna get rocked? and then they lead into their full set. Joe' s voice sounds good, and he is getting the crowd going. Sav, is very animated and playful singing autographs between playing the guitar, posing for pictures and just having fun. Phil if off doing his thing playing and being very playful with the crowd, and his guitar is just spot on. Vivian is solid to with his playing and then we have Rick Allen, beating away on his drums smiling the entire time he's playing.

The crowd was very receptive to Rock On, it was really cool because everyone knows that song.

Joe jumps down into the audience while still singing and really fires everybody up. I see fists pounding in the air, people singing along, lighters lit, people screaming and whistling. It was just one of the best shows of theirs. THEY ARE ON FIRE.!!!!!! And for anyone waiting to see them, you are in for a treat. They are not slowing down , nor are they ready for retirement. I think they are coming into the peak of their careers. Anyone who thinks these guys are washed up, should really go and see one of their shows. They are the best band in the world in my honest opinion. The light show was really colorful, exciting and hair raising.

They added in a few new ones with the very much favorite old ones and it was just a night to remember for me, along with meeting Joe and Phil backstage. I found a few days later that we (the audience) could be heard 8 blocks away. It was an almost sold out show. They were the bomb! I can't wait to go again but I gotta wait until funds allow.

We won't forget you: Joe, Rick, Sav, Phil and Vivian! Come back soon.
