Vancouver, BC - Fan Reviews

Fan Review - By Anthony

I went into this concert with low expectations because last time DL was in Vancouver on the X tour they seemed tired and not really into the performance and Joes voice was way off. After last night I have completely erased the X tour show from my memory and will keep lasts nights concert in my head forever.

From the opening note to the closing note DL rocked. Joe really sounded great. They played like 5 guys just having fun! So much energy from the band and from the crowd! At some points the crowd was louder than band! Especially on Animal, Rocket, Rock Of Ages and of course on PSSOM. What an awsome cover version of Rock On! Can’t wait for the covers album to come out!

All I can say is that DL put on a great concert full of hits and really worked their ass's off to please the crowd. Thanks DL for coming back to Vancouver and I know that we wont forget you guys so come back and Rock Out with us again.

PS: For all you people who think DL is washed up go check out a show on this tour you will not be disappointed.

Since 1983, ive had a loyal following to this band. Last night, I finally had the chance to see these madmen of Rock Roll let loose at GM Place in Vancouver. Ive been to a great many concerts in my time but never have I seen the energy that the Lep created in Vancouver. Right from the time they came onstage, they played with such a ferocity that 18,000 will take along in memories for years to come.

It was a great show! I can't remember when I had such a good time! They sang a lot of familiar songs and a couple of new ones...really liked No Matter What. I also liked the subtle message to the US during Gods Of War...wonder how that went over in the States" (I had bought an advance ticket through the fan site/Jack FM)

Now, as for my experience at the Sept 23/03 show:

"I had an awesome seat - directly across from the stage, but right of the sound guys. They played every song I wanted them to (or should I say willed them to?) and I danced and sang right along with them! Joe would run from one side of the stage to the other to get the fans off their butts and dancing along with everyone else. What a ride! Seeing this show was a present from a friend of mine while I recouperated from surgery and she had another friend with us. I had wanted to meet them after the show to get them to sign the hand-painted leopard shirt I had, but they didn't want to stick around...yeah, I was choked!

I enjoyed every minute of the concert and wouldn't hesitate to see them again!".

We flew from San Diego to see our 7th (and last :() concert on the Rock of Ages tour. We heard DL has a huge following in Canada, and it is true. The arena was packed with excited fans. We were VERY impressed with the friendliness of everyone. DL hit the stage about 8:30 with Action. They were filled with energy which in turn pumped the audience. They played hit after hit. The sound quality was excellent and the guys voices were awesome. My favorites were Hysteria (extended version), Rock On and of course PSSOM. Gods of War, with the war mongers on the screen behind the band, was very appropriate. The highlight for my husband was when Viv threw his pick to him (in the 5th row!), he missed it, then Viv threw another one to him and he caught it!!!! This was a GREAT concert to this tour for us. We loved Canada and will definitely be back for another DL concert. To end our trip, as we were leaving the hotel the DL tour busses drove right by us! Rock On!!!!.

Travelled all the way from the UK to see our life time ambition & they did not disappoint in the slightest. They rocked the Ice Hockey stadium out of the ground. They played for just over 2 hours solid. Played a mixture of mostly old songs and a few new ones. One of the new ones was a cover of the Bad Finger track ' No matter what you do'. They sounded miles better. They finished off with their trademark song 'Pour some sugar on me' They announced that there new album went double platinum in the states, and it will be released in the UK soon, if it already hasn't done so. What finished off a great evening was that we had our tops signed by the best drummer in the world 'Rick' and also by Phil. What a city, What a night & what a band. They rule!!!.

I spent 22 hours in transit from Australia to see my first DL concert. 12 hrs after arriving in Vancouver and I had witnessed the best concert ever. I was worried my expectations would be too high after being a fan for 18yrs but Def Leppard and the Vancouver crowd more than exceeded them. From the opening song "Action" to the Hysteria classic's and the covered songs "No Matter What" and "Rock On", the whole crowd were on the feet the entire time. You could feel the electricity in the air which, in my opinion, only a band like DL can produce. Money well spent and a dream fullfilled.

The Vanc. B.C. show was outta this world. The whole arena was almost filled completely. Definately the best Lep show I have been to yet. Much better than the June 1 Portland show also. I sat 3rd row and had a great view of them all. It was well worth the 5 hour drive and the hour and a half wait to cross the border. I only had a disposable camera but I still got some good pics. I waited around after the show to see if I could get some pics and autographs and indeed I did. (From Phil and Rick Allen).

This was my fourth of four and I have to say it was the best! This venue ROCKED!!! We wer in row three again! Everyone beside us and two to three rows deep in front and behind was great! This crowd was like a big happy family there to enjoy the music and each other. I love Vancouver!!!

Def Leppard was having a great time, they were grinning and playing with each other. They love Canada and it shows! Waiting for the band to come out for an "acoustic" version of Two Steps Behind Joe began to sing an Elvis song! I wish I could remember which one, it was awesome! This is the show that I finally got to meet Phil afterwards at the busses. I held his hand and asked him to sign my arm, he was a bit surprised but did it anyway. At the end of the show when Joe said "Do us a favor... I knew what was coming and I think everyone else did too, I really think I heard the crowd yell "We won't forget you!" right along with him!
