San Jose, CA - Fan Reviews

Fan Review - By Sean

Well, it looks like it was a carbon copy of the Portland show in terms of the setlist. Of the 16 tracks played, 7 of them were the Hysteria "singles". Nothing played from On Through The Night, Slang, or X. Vivian seemed to hurt his finger right before the guitar solo "battle" between himself Phil Collen, but it didn't affect the song at all. You could see him trying to shake it off. No Matter What and Pour Some Sugar On Me were much better than the Today Show broadcast. Phil brought out the Bella Lugosi guitar for the encore.

The sound was very comparable to the X tour. Odd choice to open with 'Action', as it does not appear on the US release of "Rock Of Ages".

It is always nice to capture Def Leppard earlier in the tour as Joe has yet to really strain his vocal chords.

Good turnout and once again, a lot of women in the audience.

As a 17 year old girl, I haven't had many opportunities to go to concerts. The Def Leppard/Bryan Adams show was the 4th concert that I've been to, ever. And let me be the first to tell you...it. was. awesome.

Truthfully, yesterday was one of the best nights of my life. I waited for the show to start for about 3 hours, but it was totally and completely worth it...My brother and I were up against the rails, right in front of Viv. We were literally 10 feet away from the band! The music was rockin', and the boys were dead on. My brother, who was not a Def Leppard fan prior to the concert, walked out as a hardcore fan. They were THAT good.

This was the first time that I've ever seen Def Leppard in concert, and I'm definitely going to see them again when they come back to Cali. Bryan Adams wasn't too bad either-- I was going to bail when he came on, but I'm glad that I didn't. It was an awesome conclusion to an already awesome night...I just wish I could do it all over again!.

What an absolutely amazing experience!! Let me just say that it truly was an incredible experience. We managed to get to the stadium almost 6 hours early and ended up 6th or so in line. Thanks to my good friend, who is in much better shape than I am, we managed to get front row center, right up against the barricade, right in front of Joe!!!!! Front row center is just indescribable!!

I will never forget it!! They looked and sounded amazing. They seemed to have gotten in tip top shape for the tour and were full of energy on stage. It was quite electric there in the front row, singing along to every song, and clapping and waving your hands in the air. The energy in the crowd was so much different up front. Everyone was singing along to every song! After seeing them so close, I can't imagine seeing them in concert any other way.

The setlist was pretty much the same as the Portland show, and as much as I wanted to hear Mirror Mirror, I kind of forgot all about that once they launched into "Action". Some thought it an odd choice to open up with, but once there I felt they could do no wrong.

The music was loud, well executed as always, and full of energy!! They put on an incredible performance. It was such a rush to watch them perform. They did not disappoint in anyway. Yes, there were times when I felt that Joe's voice was a bit drowned out, but being up front it really didn't seem to matter. The crowd seemed to love the union jack beach towel that Joe was using to wipe the sweat from his face - they were working hard to make us happy!! And they looked like they were having as much fun as the audience! I tried to catch glimpses of Rick behind the kit and he was grinning from ear to ear as usual!

I suppose one could find fault with anything - but any little fault would be overwhelmed by the total experience that is Def Leppard live!!

My friend who likes DL music but was not a big fan and had never seen them in person - said they were amazing in concert and that she was really impressed. I guess it helped that her first DL concert was seen from the front row! And she had come planning to not buy a concert t-shirt, but after the show was over, made a bee-line to the merchandise table!! Unfortunately we missed BA - but DL is who we came to see and they definitely delivered!.
