Fan Review - By Terri

First of all, let me start out by saying that if Def Leppard had not been playing at Livestock, I would not have gone....it's a whole weekend full of shows and there has been known to be trouble with injuries, drug overdoeses, etc. It's very much like Woodstock. This was my first one and I was pleased to see that everyone around me was very pleasant and well behaved! It was nothing like I was expecting!

My friend and I arrived around 5pm to get to the 98Rock Station Booth because Joe was giving an interview. We heard the whole thing, and Joe said when they finally stop this tour, in October, he believed, they would start working on the new album in January!

We had to wait through a couple of other bands, but even after getting there so late in the day, we got to the very front and were able to hang onto the front rail! We were literally only about 20 feet from the stage! Some people had gotten there as early as 8am and said it took them forever to get there-so we just got lucky I guess!

When the guys came out, it wasn't quite dark yet, but they had all their lights set up and a huge black "X" banner behind them. It did get dark within a few minutes and the setup looked great! They didn't have the stage set they normally would have because there were two stages and they were fairly small and other bands used them before and would after, as well.

Unfortunately, there wasn't time for an Encore, as they had to set the stage up for Godsmack, who would be using it after them. 3 Doors Down played directly after them on the neighboring stage.

I was thrilled with the setlist and pleasantly surprised they played Promises and Four Letter Word for such a hard rocking crowd, and Joe was especially pleased to see that I was thrilled to see them do those two songs! I sang along to every word, and Joe gave me a smile that said "I'm glad you know this!" Not a lot of people in the crowd knew the newest songs. I had great contact with almost all of the guys and that just made the show even more enjoyable!:)

As for the fashions of the night, Phil and Viv were shirtless from the git go. Joe wore black leather pants and a black shirt, and Rick wore shorts with a back t-shirt, I couldn't tell what was on it, though. Sav was dressed in jeans that had a lot of painting on them and a white vest. Some of this info is very important to some of us!:)

The show went very well, I'd say, I think they only time I thought the guitars were too loud over Joe was during Photograph, and it wasn't that noticeable. The guys appeared to be very happy to be there and smiled the whole show. It was a great show for many of the younger rockers who had never seen them. A LOT of people walked away saying "WOW, that was great! Those guys ROCK!" I'm glad we braved the Livestock element to check out the show. It really DID rock!
