Manchester, NH - Fan Reviews

Fan Review - By Cherie

This was my second Def Lep show and I thought that it was amazing. The crowd was kind of on the small side. I had heard that they moved people that were in the balcony sections down closer to the stage. I hope that doesn't effect future tours. The fans that I was surrounded by were great and so excited to be there.

I hadn't seen Ricky Warwick before and was very impressed that it was just him and his guitar. Vivian came out to play electric guitar and sing back up on "Three Sides to Every Story". I liked his music and plan on getting the CD. I believe he was on for about a half hour.

Def Leppard came on a little while later. They had amazing energy. They all seemed so happy. All smiles and everything. The father (I believe) of the boy next to me told Vivian that it was the boy's birthday. Viv smiled, gave him a pick and said happy birthday. Sav was running all over the stage and I was really enjoying watching him. Rick would pop up from his seat every now and then and wave to the crowd. We couldn't really see him while he was playing so we went nuts when he would wave. I was lucky enough to have a great seat and see things that you don't normally see when you're not as close to the stage. Like how the guys interact with the crowd, play their guitars, backstage goings on and stuff like that.

Joe was really impressed with the Toronto crowd from a few nights earlier and tried to get us to be louder. I don't think we beat them. (The Providence crowd the next night may have given them a run for their money though!) But there were parts when I actually couldn't hear Joe singing because of the cheers. All in all it was a great and fun night!.

Manchester, New Hampshire rocked! It was SO good. This was the third time I've seen them and it was by far the best they've ever sounded and looked.

We were in about the 10th row so I could see their faces pretty well. But because I'm short that's about all I could see. I couldn't tell you what a single guy wore for pants because all I really saw were their shoulders on up. But that was fine because I could hear them and that's what matters.

I had an aisle seat and during the show Malvin walked right by me. I could've reached right out and touched him...but I didn't I was surprised to see him walk right by me though. Ricky Warwick strolled right by me as well.

Before Rock of Ages, Joe did his little Rick introduction, and he mentioned how Rick has been with the band almost 25 years now, and how quiet he is. So Rick stands up and gets a huge round of applause, and as it starts to die down, he motions with his hand that he wants more! So of course he gets more. He did that a few times and kind of stole the spotlight away from Joe for the moment. Then Rick reached down and pulled his T-shirt up to right underneath his neck and stuck his bare chest out at the audience.....which lead to even MORE applause and screaming. It was so cool to see Rick interacting with the audience. You could tell he was just loving it.

Anyway, it was a great show. They did Slang which surprised me, and the new material seemed to go down just as well as the old. The last concert I was at it didn't seem to be that way, but everyone seemed to like the newer songs they played, which was great. They have so much energy and they give the audience every pennies worth of the price of their ticket.

It's so great to see them performing live. They've been together for so long and they still look like they're having the time of their lives up there. Thank you guys for such a great show!.

Not good to start off your first DL concert thinking you’re going to miss out on it. We were supposed to leave here at 5:00, try almost 5:30. I just remember watching the clock inch closer and closer to 7:30 as my dad drove through the streets towards Manchester.

Thankfully we did make it (no thanks to the parking garage elevator not going where it should. The button for the first floor was pressed, it decided to stop on the third floor, we ended taking the stairs) and were in our seats a good ten or so minutes or so before Mal came out and welcomed us to the show before introducing Ricky.

Just wow about his performance. After seeing him play, I have this whole new respect for him as an artist. Will definitely be getting Tattoos and Alibis come September. Would have gotten the Japanese release at the merchandise stands had they not sold out (good news for him though!).

Did manage to get a Union Jack tank top. Won’t be wearing it though, that baby is going up on my wall in a frame! I must have missed out on the tour books so the shirt will have to be my memento. Not a bad memento, not at all.

Okay back to the concert now. Queen (We Will Rock You) comes on over the speakers followed by a tape version of Disintegrate then after several times of Coma by Guns N Roses (I’m assuming it was them, only band I know of with a song of that title) DL takes the stage (looking mighty fine I must say) and the concert is officially underway.

Sav: Glam t-shirt and I think he was wearing those pants he usually wears with that shirt. I couldn’t really see them all that well. Boy did he look good up there, moving about the stage, playing up to the crowd. I must’ve sighed at least five times while watching him.

Joe: T-shirt with what looked like a oversized hand/palm from where I was sitting and black leather (again it was hard to see) pants. I sighed while watching him too, lol. He also played up to the crowd, there was this one moment (can’t remember during what song) but where Sav leaned back against him while playing. Unfortunately while I *did* see it, I missed getting a pic of it. Would have been the perfect picture… *sigh*

Phil: Wasn’t really paying attention to his shirt, was just waiting for him to take it off…. Which he did when the lights were dimmed so I missed it. *sighs* His pants I believe were black. He was on fire up on the stage, it seemed like he was always moving from one end to the other, and he never looked tired either, not even at the end. The stamina that man has is just in one word…amazing.

Rick: He had on a t-shirt and shorts and *did* stand a few times, we took pics when he did…as well as a few of him playing (I found myself just watching him as he played. Beyond amazing). Was hard to tell because it was after “Rocket” and there was still smoke from the smoke machines billowing about, but it did look as if there was an incense stick burning up there

Viv: Couldn’t really make out what he was wearing from my seat and when he moved closer to Sav or up onto Rick’s drum riser, I forgot to pay attention, whoops. I do know that he ended up losing his shirt as well… I saw that.. Both he and Phil were just amazing up there, they all were.

All in all, I had an awesome time and can’t wait to see them again! Even with ringing ears, sore feet and a guy’s arm in the way a lot of the time, I wouldn’t trade this experience for anything in the world.
