  • Venue / Tweeter Center

The first show by the band in this city since July 1996 on the Slang tour.

The fourth time at this venue.

The venue is located in Mansfield which is a town 36 miles South of the main city centre of Boston.

It was opened in June 1986 as Great Woods Center for the Performing Arts.

From 1999 to 2008 it was called Tweeter Center for the Performing Arts.

From 2008 to 2013 it was called Comcast Center and since 2013 it had been known as The Xfinity Center.

The opening night of the Summer Tour 2000 leg of the 'Euphoria' world tour following a four month break.

The band added new songs for this tour leg.

'Excitable' was played for the very first time.

'Gods Of War' had not been unplayed since 23rd June 1993 in Tokyo, Japan on the 'Adrenalize' tour.

The song had an extended middle section with Joe leading the crowd in the "Are You Excitable?" chant.

The support act did not go down well with fans on this tour leg and Joe later referred to them in an online posting at the end of the tour with this:

"And, thanks to The Unband, for being the most Unband we ever toured with!".

The Unband formed in Boston in 1990 and feature singer/guitarist Matthew Pierce, bassist Michael Ruffino and drummer Eugene Ferrari.

They were touring in support of their album 'Retarder' at the time which had been released in July 2000.

The band spent ten days rehearsing at the Lowell Auditorium after the four month lay off.
