  • Location / Sheffield, England
  • Venue / Don Valley Stadium

The first show by the band in this city since June 1992 on the Adrenalize UK tour.

The first time at this venue.

The venue was located to the North of the city centre and not far from Sheffield Arena.

It was opened in September 1990 and was built specifically for the World Student Games.

It was closed down in September 2013 and then demolished from November 2013 to May 2014 and is now called the Olympic Legacy Park with a football pitch and other facilities in its place.

The first headline stadium show by Def Leppard in the UK and a triumphant hometown show.

Following on from their biggest arena tour in 1992 this was the peak of the bands popularity in the UK.

The show included the first concert performance of forthcoming single 'Two Steps Behind'. The last show in the UK to feature guitar solos spots by Phil and Vivian.

The show was filmed in full but a 1 hour highlights show is the only footage available to date.

BBC Radio 1 in the UK recorded the show and broadcast all tracks (apart from the guitar solos, White Lightning/GOW and My Hometown) on 12th June 1993.

This recording was circulated on an audience recording called 'The Circus Comes To Town' although it cuts out part of 'Tear It Down'.

The full recording includes all of the songs plus the DJ talk between a few of them.

The one hour highlights from the show were broadcast on Japanese TV and on local Yorkshire TV which showed the 14 songs indicated with a * below.

The DVD recording is from the Japanese version which shows the band walking to the stage before the intro starts and taking applause at the end/Joe's end speech.

It was announced on 1st March 2013 that the stadium would close in September 2013 and be demolished as part of local council cutbacks.
