Louisville, KY - Media Reviews

Def Leppard At Freedom Hall By Louisville Courier-Journal

While many heavy-metal bands have gotten faster and nastier throughout the 1980s, Def Leppard has continued to hone their songwriting skills.

The catchy bass and drum intro to 'Women', off the band's new album, 'Hysteria', had the crowd stomping their feet.

Lead vocalist Joe Elliott ran around the stage, which was set up in the middle of the basketball court, cheering on the crowd, to keep them on their feet.

'Women's' title song especially showed off the great feeling guitarists Phil Collen and Steve Clark have for melody.

Another new song, 'Animal', also was a highlight of the show as the crowd sang along with Elliott.

The audience sang 'Animal,' but when the band broke into their 1984 mega-hit 'Rock Of Ages' the crowd was up and shouting.
