The first time at this venue and at this free music festival.

The venue is located South of the city centre of Den Haag (The Hague) which is home to the U.N. International Court Of Justice (which shouldn't concern you unless you commit war crimes...so don't do that...).

The festival was first held in 1981.

Zuiderpark (South Park) was first opened in 1936.

For the first time in the festivals history a crowd fight occurred during Leppard's set.

100,000 people are supposed to have attended although Peter Mensch said there were only 3,000 during Lep's set on the 2nd stage in the 1987 UK Tour Programme notes.

At the Amsterdam show in April 1988 Joe mentioned this show to the crowd and said it "was a load of shit".

The band were fifth on a bill of six acts on the second stage.

Los Lobos headlined the main stage which also featured Deacon Blue and Katrina And The Waves.

Following this show the band went on a promo tour that includes interviews, TV appearances in the run up to the release of the 'Animal' single and 'Hysteria' album in August.

During August they would start rehearsals for the main world tour which would begin in Ireland/UK at the end of the month.

The setlist was shortened to 8 songs including five from the still unreleased 'Hysteria' album.
