Sheffield, England - Media Reviews

Def Leppard @ Sheffield City Hall By Sheffield Star

Home town boys Def Leppard turned in a powerhouse performance in front of their local fans last night.

By the end of the band#s one-and-quarter-hour set, everyone was rocking in the aisles.

Leppard's American conquest has clearly helped the young rockers get their act together.

Songs from their new album Pyromania, due out next week, went down as well as old favourites like Wasted and Getcha Rocks Off.

But it was the band's confidence on stage that caught the eye with front man Joe Elliott sporting a patriotic Union Jack tee shirt, in good voice.

New axeman Phil Collen has slotted quickly into the groove alongside Steve Clark.

While bass-man Rick Savage and drummer Rick Allen have developed into a formidable rhythm section.

On this showing. Leppard deserve to consolidate their growing U.S. success at home.
