The first show by the band in this city.

The first time at this venue.

The venue is located in the city centre and close to the Elk River and Kanawha River.

It was opened in 1959 as Charleston Civic Center.

The name was later changed to Charleston Coliseum & Convention Center.

It was renovated in 1964, 1980 and 2015 and expanded in 1980 and 2015.

Gary Moore and his band joined the tour as the first support band at this show in place of Jon Butcher Axis.

His band also included Neil Murray on bass, Ian Paice on drums and Neil Carter on keyboards.

They were touring Gary's latest studio album 'Corridors Of Power' which had been released in September 1982. Six songs from the album featured in the setlist along with 'Nuclear Attack' from the 'Dirty Fingers' album which was to be released in Japan in July 1983 and Europe in 1984 having been recorded in 1981.

Sav, Phil, Steve and Joe attended a Journey concert (with Bryan Adams in support) at Rupp Arena in Lexington, KY the night before this. Ross Halfin's photos from backstage were published in Kerrang!.

Gary usually started his seven song setlist with a cover of the Free song 'Wishing Well'.
