In keeping with the show's temperament, Def Leppard, another United Kingdom ton-tonne outfit, opened up things with a splat.

With enough noise to cause deafness in a teeming jungle, Def Leppard ran down a program of indistinguishable heavy rock.

To the cheers of the fans, the boys entertained with the usual spread-legged, macho, rooster guitar stances and thundering, rumbling rock and roll mainly culled from their new LP, 'High 'n' Dry'.
