It was opened in 1972 as the Olympische Basketballhalle for use in the 1974 Olympics.

It was then renovated and reopened in 2011.

It was renamed as the Rudi-Sedlmayer-Halle in 1974 and became the Audi Dome in 2011 when it reopened.

The band met Queen guitarist Brian May for the first time at this show.

Joe has mentioned several times he introduced himself as "Brian May from Queen" and hung out backstage.

Queen were in town at Musicland Studios recording their album 'Hot Space'.
