  • Location / Ipswich, England
  • Venue / Gaumont Theatre

The first show by the band in this city.

The first time at this venue.

The venue is located in the city centre.

It was opened in 1921.

The venue was initially named as the Gaumont Theatre and changed to Regent Theatre in September 1991.

It was refurbished in 2007

Another show on the High 'n' Dry UK tour with Lionheart and MORE in support.

The setlist was changed up again with 'Let's Get Rocked' as the surprise opener. 'Let It Go' was moved to the encore section and 'Rock! Rock!' was dropped.

Joe Elliott later mentioned that the band had taken a boat trip holiday on the Norfolk Broads in July 1978 and saw UFO at this venue.

This led to Steve Clark demanding to play a concert or he would leave the band.

The band's first ever public show was then hastily arranged and took place on 18th July 1978 at Westfield School in Sheffield.

This show was not part of the initially announced dates and was added to the schedule.
