Show Story - From Animal Instinct

On closing night in Daytona Beach, Def Leppard's tour bus got stuck in the sand when their driver and Ozzy's driver had a race and Leppard's driver pulled up too close to the beach. After the show, an end-of-tour blowout got out of hand when Joe and Ozzy drummer Tommy Aldridge (an old pal from his stint with Pat Travers on the 1980 tour) began throwing firecrackers from Aldridge's balcony down into the hotel swimming pool. The police, taking a dim view of this kind of entertainment, threatened to arrest the pair of them and nearly did. Joe managed to escape into an elevator, rode it down a couple of floors and sneaked into his room up the fire stairs.
