Fan Review - Submitted By John Winfieldale

15 years old. Never seen a rock band live. Ill fitting denim jacket. Truly appalling bushy haircut. And obviously, no girlfriend. I did not know what to expect...certainly not a life-changing night.

Dawn Trader were good, but it was always an uphill struggle perched on the front of the stage in front of the other bands gear. Magnum had truly blinding pyrotechnics that left me blind and dazed for a few weird seconds. My lastly impression is of an accomplished front man.

The boys from DL followed with little stage craft. Young guys not much older than ourselves. Their frequent lunges towards the stage front leaving me with the idea that this is what all rock bands do. I don't remember any special effects. I don't remember any clear structure to the set list. What I remember is volume, cool guitars, Joe singing with one hand in the air, and great songs.

After the gig we hung around the stage door to get an autograph. To our amazement we were let in! We met the band, met some girls (who were clearly not interested us), talked about the meaning of "rocks off" and begged unsuccessfully for freebies. On the way back to the car Rick came running through the multi story car park after us with pockets full of badges and patches. What a great guy. Still got the badge. Life-changing night. Instant life-long fan.
