London, England - Media Reviews

Sammy Hagar/Def Leppard @ Hammersmith Odeon By Geoff Barton

"They dispelled any of my too-much-too-soon doubts by putting on a splendid display, resplendent in their new stage costumes - singer Elliott wearing a kind of leopard skin waistcoat printed in paw marks in recognition of the band's delightful mispelt name.

They abandoned their Thin Lizzy cover's and presented a stunning set of originals with 'Sorrow is a Woman', 'Wasted' (great lyrics about a bottle of wine and pills and a marvellous chant line of "Wastid") and the new number 'Rock Brigade' particular highlights.

The spearhead of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal, these boys have a great future ahead of them. Watch them go, watch them rise, catch them wherever you can. Keep your cool, you Leppards, you will become the success story of the decade. No rash prediction."
