Prev  |  Next
  • Location / Glasgow, Scotland
  • Venue / The Apollo/Apollo Theatre

A second night in this city and at this venue.

The second time at this venue and second of two shows here.

The venue was located in the west of the city centre and not far from Sauchiehall Street where they had played Tiffanys in January.

It was opened in September 1973 as a music venue.

The building was previously called Green's Playhouse, a cinema and ballroom that opened in September 1927.

The venue building was closed down in June 1985 and demolished in 1987 with the Cineworld Cinema now standing in its place.

Show Story - 'Animal Instinct' Biography 1987

"The Leppards went our drinking with AC/DC singer Bon Scott after one of the shows."

"Scott, a native Glaswegian, took the boys to a bar in one of the roughest parts of the city."

"'Bon was really good to us on that tour', says Rick Allen, 'He would come into the dressing room every night and wish us luck before we went on'."
